fring 3.35 for Symbian 9 is out
fring for Nokia S60 devices: de-bugged, improved & enriched!
You’ve been asking and we’ve been listening hard… then diligently gathering your bug alerts, requests and suggestions, and grinding through the list like busy beavers…
So what have we done?
- Improved stability – with significantly less interruption, logouts, etc
- Made voice quality even better all round
- Added speakerphone for Symbian 9.2 (Not sure which Symbian you are?)
- Enabled file transfer from Yahoo! & Skype so you can now swap music, pics & vids over WiFi or 3G from mobile to mobile and mobile to PC! Its quick, reliable and of course free! No need for MMS, cable, Bluetooth or Infrared.
Important! The easiest way to update your fring version is to point your mobile internet WAP browser at www.fring.com and download fring directly to your mobile.
(Our R&D team are ready to zap any other bugs you and us might find, so please keep sending us your ideas, insights and bug alerts)
Thanks for your support

-’Don’t show billable events?’ (Yes or no) is slightly confusing.
‘Show billable events?’ would be a better incarnation of the question; or even ‘Should Fring hide billable events?’
-on login, ‘your user-ID’ should be confined to numbers only to allow faster entery (all user-id’s are purely numbers, right?)
-longer passwords for msn/gtalk/skype accounts!!
-change fringtone volume – way too loud on default for me
Otherwise good release, nice to see things are a little clearer in the display.

Great release, thank you very much. Only use this for msn or wlm as it’s now called. I would love it if you could implement a few features for wlm in future releases if possible, which would make the app perfect for myself and my friends who also use it.
* Ability to appear offline,away,busy etc
* Ability to block/unblock contacts
* Nickname Support
Also alot of my contacts i know their msn address, but don’t recognise their name, say for instance i have two “Annes” online, i can’t differentiate between the two. Can it be possible to perhaps right click on the contact, and see information such as their e-mail address also. Thanks in advance, and keep up the great work

Hi! fring seems to work quite well on my Nokia N73. However, fring seems to ignore the volume settings of my profiles. I know I have to switch to General to enable fring’s specific sounds, but the volume is too high. Can I do something about that?
Thanks!

Hi,
I recently took over a phone that had fring installed. I could easily add all my accounts (ICQ, AIM, Skype, Yahoo, facebook, etc) but I cannot change the fring username. When I go to the screen options > settings > personalise > My user-id > change : it does not allow me an option to change this. Any ideas?

You’ll have to uninstall fring and install it again with a new user ID.
