hai ,i am using samsung i550w & i downloaded the fring software.I REGISTERD one SIP phone call service .the problem is, i cannot hear the sound.But they can hear my sound while sip calls.the same problem in google talk also.

Dear Fring Developers, the Fring sw unfortunately is not performing on samsung sgh-i550w: NOT POSSIBLE TO HEAR. Already tried to install/reinstall in different memory (phone/card) tried skype, fring test call, sip, but same problem cannot hear.
A solution would be much appreciated

GOOD NEWS:
I went to samsung service center to upgrade the firmware.
Installed back the application, since upgrade erases all data, except memory card.
And now Fring is working fine, already tested with skype and sip, it rocks!
I had: (03aug2008)
SW VERSION: i550DZGL3
Compile date: Dec 17 2007
Now I have: (update on 06set2008)
SW VERSION: i550DZHD1
Compile date: Nov04 2008
check your phone’s firmware version using the code *#0000#

thanks for sharing your experience!
I had mine upgraded from firmware i550JPGL3 to i550JPHD1 (compile date April 21, 2008), which corresponds to your version’s release date but for different languages/region. I was experiencing the same issue as most other users, i.e. I could not hear anything and after the upgrade I re-installed fring but still cannot hear anything!
Is there any particular procedure you used to get it to work?

Guys, thanks so much for the Solution of sound problem. My Samsung i550w also giving the same problem. My present firmware is i550JPGL3 dated 06/12/2007. Need to upgrade to new version as BASTOS suggestion. Can any suggest me the way of upgrade this ourself.

flashing metode:
Its easy and steps are below
1. Download the apollo, s60 download drivers, and the firmware to you PC
2. Remove PC suite and USB drivers from your PC then restart.
3. Off the phone, and press and hold the keys 7 and * and the on button, all 3 keys together.
4. When the phone shows “Modem Download”, connect the USB port to PC, it should automatically prompt you to install the phone driver, point it to the drivers that you have downloaded.
5. Off the phone again, if you can’t power it off, just unplug the battery.
6. Press and hold the keys 1 and 4 and the on button, all 3 keys together.
7. When there are 3 lines of words in the phone, connect the USB port to PC, it should automatically prompt you to install some other drivers, point it to the downloaded files (PDA Driver)again.
8. Verify that you have the two drivers installed in the Control Panel.
9. REBOOT PC!
10. Run the Apollo software, and on the phone while pressing key 4 and 7, all 3 keys together, when the phone shows “ALL Download”, make sure “SMD” is unchecked, and just press “All Download”, (you will need to select the firmware files downloaded)
11. Just watch the formatting and loading actions in Apollo and Mobile.
12. DONE

On my i550w fring can’t connect to wi-fi network (known problem on many models without solution). I wanted to try minifring – maybe it could be solution, but there is restriction, that this model is not supported with minifring. May you turn it down? Maybe only for me to test it? Please

Mostly all phones default lock codes are 00000 (5 times of zero). But if some one may be you or your previous user of that cellphone changes this code means this zero code will not work.

Well Who ever developed this software Fring should make a common soft ware for all mobile phones so that all mobile usres could use this software to make and receive call from Frings or Skype
