yes, there's a new version out but we're having some issues with the push notifications on it.
Our iPhone team was working all night to solve it and there's a new version in QA right now.
We're hoping to send it for approval in the next few hours.

I know you guys can do it. I held out on getting IM+ or Beejive waiting for push on fring.

Besides I gotta support my Israeli brothers.

Some issues? I don't want to be rude, but, hey, the 3.0 SDK is out for ages!!!
The issues must have come out during the test period, don't you think? With one of the most required feature of 3.0 for messenger programs is Push Notification, and what is the feature that isn't working in new Fring release? Of course this one!
If you send the new version for approval today, we must wait of course another Apple-period of acceptance, so this means another minimum 2 weeks waiting, am I right?

Anyway, Fring is very good, I'm just disappointed by this mistake...

?!?

One thing is sure, you're not a developer

"As some of you might have noticed, originally this latest version was to include Apple’s new Push Notification feature, which was later disabled due to some technical difficulties and will be available on fring’s next iPhone version, currently submitted to the AppStore. Stay tuned!"

That's sure, I'm just a (little disappointed) customer. But, please explain, why I have to be a developer to post some critical notices about a product?
I have an application, and the creators stated the new feature. After this, this is not working. There is other app, which work, so I am a bit diasppointed. Now I am waiting for the fix, but I'm sad this will take some more time

You cant really complain about a free product. I can understand if you paid for it and then they said, oops sorry its not working.

Didn't intend to initiate a hard discussion! Do you need any beta testers for push?

You certainly don't have to be a dev to express your opinion, now venting your frustration at the devs might not help much.

Your comment sounded as if the devs nearly intentionnaly removed push to frustrate you (and us, because I do share your frustration).

If you'd be involved in development, you'd know that, unfortunetly, things don't allways go the way you expect. Actiually things thend to go the exact opposite way (aka Murphy law).

And I'm sure the devs are as disapointed as we are.

So let's hope for a quick fix, continue to express your opinion in a maybe more constructive way and let's all be friends in peace
