I am using Fring on te iphone. i find that I am always getting moved around by accident b/c all the buttons are jammed so close.
1) make the return key on the keyboard a send key. now return just collapses the keyboard and you see your full IM history. that's nice buut other IM apps do it differnently and its not so annoying as on fring 2) the buttons often don't register on the 1st press. this goes for send or trying to get the cursor in the text field. then when I have to hit it 2-3 times it sometimes registers on the advert and I jump out of fring and to a browser to see your ad, or I go to another screen b/c I hit the bottom menu buttons |

Hi,
I just realized that I cannot change Add-ons on my iPhone OS 3.1 with Fring 2.0.0.4. Nothing happens when I tap an add-on. This is quite a problem, since my pwd for one of my subscriptions has changed, and now I cannot reach it from Fring! Is there any workaround, eg. managing add-ons from web? |

Hi,
Another bug: when trying to open Fring 2.0.0.4 from a pushed notification on my iPhone 3.1, the app starts loading, but after around 1 sec it exits. I need to start the app manually |

Don't know what went wrong... Although I allowed fring to use Push services during installation, it doesn't seem to work. I checked all my iPhone and fring settings - notifications are on. There is also the "Go offline" function missing in the "more" tab.
I uninstalled and reinstalled fring but this didn't change anything. But during reinstall I've not been asked if I wanted to use push notifications. Strange? Or am I too silly to install and configure this app? Thank you in advance for any help. |

Hi,
I am testing the app continuously, and to me it seems your problem arises when Fring cannot sign in. The WiFi network at my workplace does not allow Fring to connect. Try with different connections, eg disable Wifi to force using GSM. Once it signs in, the icon atop becomes green, and you will see the Go Offline option, too |

Fring connects immediately after app start, Skype and fring test calls work, the top icon is green. But when I open a twitter chat session, the twitter window opens blank. After about 15 minutes only, there are multiple beeps and all the tweets come in, out of those I wrote myself. When I write new tweets they show up first. But the next time I start fring the problem is the same with the blank window during 15 minutes. Aren't the tweets be cached in the fring app?
My Wifi should not be the problem, I have a twitter plugin in my firefox on the notebook computer and it works fine at the same time. Edit: I just tried it on GSM - the twitter 15 min. problem is the same, but the Go offline function appears - very strange! Last edited by TechnikAlsace; 10-14-2009 at 02:03 PM. |

I see, then it is really not the connection. I guess it is about the service instead. I do experience the the service is not quite stable, it can be under development...

OK, I see...
I installed the Echofon twitter app on my iphone now. It is much more reactive and has more functionality. Installed the Skype app too. Uninstalled fring until a better version will be published. One year ago I had fring on a HTC Touch under WM6 which seemed to work better. BTW: Why has the yandex plugin disappeared in the iPhone version? |

Hi,
I'll try to help you here: The twitter add-on on the iPhone version is a very basic one, usually it is used to tweet on the go, there are much better twitter clients on the App Store. If all you need is a twitter client for iPhone I'm afraid this is not the one for you. Yandex was taken off from all clients due to internal reasons (btw, it was never available on the iPhone version) regarding your comments about the forum: it's a community, sometimes you get a quick answer sometimes you don't. Sometimes you should consider opening a new thread and not reply to an exsisting one - you might get a quicker reply. Hope it helps. |
