Default Fring 1.0.0.49 - Can not get Skype to connect

Have just installed 1.0.0.49 on my G2 (Hero). When I try to register on Skype it says:

"Failed to subscribe you to Skype. Please try again."

I should add that this is the case on both wifi and 3G/2G

Have rebooted the phone. Now attempting to subscribe to Skype leaves a dialog box saying "Subscribing". This have been ongoing for 3 or 4 minutes. Have tried both wifi and 3G/2G. Methinks it broken ?

Right. Deinstalled 1.0.0.49. Rebooted phone. Reinstalled 1.0.0.49 and all seems to be working normally now. Very strange.

Ive had these problems too, i've had to constantly exit fring (also using an application killer app) and resign in a few times to both fring and skype in order for it to work. Does take a few tries.

I also can't subscribe to skype.
It shows "Subscibing\nPlease wait" for 5 minutes and than it's "Failed to subscribe you to skype\nPlease try again.". When I try again I get the same result.

Using version 1.0.1.0 from the market on a G1 with os 1.5.

Update:
After a full phone reboot it did subscribe. Still there's something funny about the contact list, it wasn't displayed untill I logged on on the pc but I hope it's a one-time quirk.

More update:
There are 2 more problems.
1. there's echo unless lowering the volume one or two levels down.
2. there's a nasty delay.
(Both problems exist over 3G, haven't tested over wifi yet)

Unhappy fring 1.0 for Android: Skype add-on cannot connect, others work fine

The same problem: When I try Skype add-on, it's trying to connect to Skype for several minutes, that is saying, that connection failed. I'm positive that username/password are correct.

I'm on Android Dev Phone 1 (HTC Dream) with Android 1.6 installed. Currently on 3G (AT&T) connection. haven't yet tried to connect to Skype while on WiFi.

Rebooting phone does not help: Google Talk, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger add-ons connect immediately, Skype takes 5 minutes and then fails.

Wow! I connected to Skype after rebooting my phone several times.

I am having a slightly different problem.

I subscribed to skype with no problem, it takes some time but does it in the end. Then I switched of my phone and restarted fring. MSN connected fine but skype did not connect. I waited for a while and nothing happened. So, I re-subscribed to skype and then it worked fine.

To test I exited frink (menu>exit) and I loaded it up again. After loading I first see the entire list of all my contacts. Then I have to wait a minute for my MSN contacts to be displayed. My skype contacts are not displayed at all. I need to re-subscribe for them to be displayed. Even after they are displayed a couple of contacts that should be online are shown as offline.
